Hungarian Sailing Federation

The Hungarian Sailing Federation was founded in 1929. Every year, nearly two hundred sailing competitions are organised by the federation and by the members of the federation at seven lakes. Sailors compete for national titles in 50-55 different categories and boat classes.

Hungarian sailing is also actively involved in the international racing scene. On Lake Balaton four to six times a year, international regattas take place annually. The largest lake rounding regatta in Europe is the Kékszalag, organised by the Hungarian Sailing Federation, that was founded in 1934. Zsombor Berecz won silver medal in Finn-dinghy class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, that is the best result so far at hungarian sailing history.
